CSAC ANNOUNCES WEEKLY AWARD WINNERS FOR SEPTEMBER 6, 2022

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week for September 6, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Field Hockey, Men's Soccer, Women's Soccer, Women's Volleyball and Cross Country, as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.

This week's selections included contests from Thursday, September 1, through Monday, September 5. A total of 30 student-athletes were recognized for their performances.

Field Hockey
Offensive Player of the Week
Maria Belen Rodriguez-Molina (Caballito, Buenos Aires, Argentina/Colegio Santa Brígida) | Fr. | Keystone College | F | Buenos Aries, Argentina/Colegio Santa Brigida

Tallied a hat trick in a 4-1 win against Keuka on Friday in the Giants' season opener.

Defensive Player of the Week
Casey Stratton (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) | Jr. | Keystone College | GK | Ellicott City, Md./Centennial

Made three stops for Keystone in its win over Keuka.

Honor Roll
Sweet Briar's Avery Jones who scored two goals in the Vixens' 4-0 win over Goucher…Wilson's Brea Kelso who had the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Sweet Briar…Sweet Briar's Ashley Maggiora who had 22 saves over three games, including 13 saves against nationally-ranked Washington & Lee.

Men's Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Moses Beers | So. | Cairn University | MF | Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township

Tallied two goals and an assist in a 1-0-1 week for Cairn.

Defensive Player of the Week
Chris Eelman | So. | Cairn University | GK | North Haledon, N.J./Hawthorne Christian

Made 16 saves on the week, including nine in a win over King's and seven in a tie against Goucher.

Honor Roll
Keystone's Axel Gonzalez (Bernardsville, N.J./Bernards) who had the game-winning goal against Penn College…Wilson's Martin Souza who had the game-tying goal for Wilson in a 3-3 stalemate with Gallaudet…Keystone's Hector Camaja, Jr., who had three saves against Penn College, and three against Dickinson...Rosemont's Santi Possu who had two goals and one assist over the weekend...Rosemont's Brady Hochman who had eight stops and two back-to-back shutouts. 

Women's Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Taylor Wolf | Sr. | Cedar Crest College | F | Townsend, Del./Middletown

Wolf led Cedar Crest on the offensive end, tallying 13 points in the Falcons' first two contests of the season. She started the season with a hat trick and an assist in a 5-2 win over Immaculata, the first over the Mighty Macs in program history. Wolf then had another hat trick in an 8-0 triumph against Penn State Mont Alto.

Isabelle Lazor | So. | Cairn University | GK | Midland Park, N.J./Eastern Christian

Made 12 saves on Saturday in Cairn's 3-2 win over Immaculata.

Honor Roll
Notre Dame's Sara Morales who had three goals in a win over Gallaudet…Cairn's Teresa Lee who had two goals, including the game-winner over Immaculata, last week…Saint Elizabeth's Milagros Rodriguez-Franco who netted a hat trick in the win over The King's College of NY…Rosemont's Sophia Truran who had two goals in the Ravens' opening win over PSU-Brandywine…Rosemont's Marissa Lotierzo who had three saves in the win over PSU-Brandywine.

Women's Volleyball
Offensive Player of the Week
Allison Barnes | Gr. | Cairn University | MB | Macungie, Pa./Salem Christian

Tallied 24 kills, 10 aces and five total blocks over a 2-0 week for Cairn. Recorded a .367 hitting percentage to lead Cairn to its 2-0 start, the first 2-0 start for Cairn since 2013.

Defensive Player of the Week
Paulina Hernandez | Jr. | Notre Dame of Maryland University | L | El Paso, Texas/Perry Hall

Totaled 20+ digs in each of NDMU's first three matches on the year, including a 23-dig effort in the Gators' season-opening sweep at Goucher. She registered 20+ digs for a third, fourth and fifth time in her collegiate career, while also adding multiple aces in all three matches, including a four-ace effort (one shy of her career high) against Penn State Harrisburg.

Honor Roll
Keystone's Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) who tallied 22 kills and 20 digs in the Giants' opening contests…Notre Dame of Maryland Emma Mueller who tallied 17 kills, 49 assists and eight aces in the Gators three opening contests…Keystone's Hailey Herneisey (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area) who had 26 digs for Keystone in its opening contests….Cairn's Caroline Conrad who posted 31 digs in two matches.

Cross Country
Men's Runner of the Week
Isaac Gale | Jr. | University of Valley Forge | Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville Area

Finished first in the inaugural Rally at the Valley race with a time of 18:29.7.

Women's Runner of the Week
Hannah Kopec | So. | University of Valley Forge | Spring City, Pa./Owen J Roberts

Won the Rally at the Valley with a time of 20:35.3.

Honor Roll
Keystone's Corey Scochin (Scott Township, Pa./Holy Cross) who had a 22:03.9 at the Griffin Open on Thursday to finish 21st overall..Cairn's Titus Dingle who was second at the Rally at the Valley with a time of 19:20…Cairn's Ayligrace Munro who finished as the runner-up at the Rally at the Valley with a time of 21:00
