LA PLUME, PA- The Keystone College men's soccer team shut out the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers in dominant fashion, taking the 3-0 win to earn their first win at home of the 2026 campaign. Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) continued to dazzle in his freshman debut, netting the team's first two goals, followed by a John Covert (Union Beach, NJ/Keyport) goal to take the win 3-nil.
The Giants started the contest hot, taking possession for the majority of the first half. Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) nearly netted the games first goal in the 11th minute, taking two chances at goal. The Giants continued to showcase their offensive prowess in the 15th minute when the games first shot on goal was taken by John Covert (Union Beach, NJ/Keyport), where the Cobleskill netminder made a sprawling save to keep the game tied at zero. Minutes later, David Sandoval (Reedley, CA/Reedley) nearled scored, sending a shot to the bottom right of the goal, where Sean Hanrahan once more made the diving save.
The Giants offense continued to press in the 30th minute of the contest where Barrett Wood (Norfolk, VA/Matthew Fontaine Maury) tallied a shot on goal, followed by a shot on goal by Lenskey Raoul (Neptune Township, NJ/Neptune). Raoul added his second shot on goal just seconds later, where SUNY Coblekill's netminder once more made two saves to keep the game tied at zero.
KC came out of halftime with the intesity on offense as they showcased in the first half, with a Joel Calle (Hicksville, NY/Hicksville) shot that nearly scored just minutes into the contest. Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) continued to edge closer to his first goal of the game, where he once again landed a shot on goal in the 52nd minute. Cummings later added another shot that missed on the right side of the net in the 55th minute.
The 65th minute saw the Giants offense explode, when Marcos Louzada (Guacui, Espirito Santo, Brazil/The Webb School) sent a perfect pass to Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) who buried the game's first goal. Cummings did not slow down offensively with a goal exactly one minute apart for the late 2-0 lead in favor of Keystone. Aiden Cummings (Baltimore, MD/Mount Saint Joseph) next chance came minutes later, where he shot the ball off the left woodwork, nearly netting the hat trick.
John Covert (Union Beach, NJ/Keyport) cleaned up the errant shot by Cummings, netting the eventual game deciding goal in the 72nd minute. Keystone wrapped up the contest by showcasing a slew of more shots from many different players.
The Giants outshot the Tigers 26-1, with 12 Keystone shots landing on goal. James Callens earned the start for the Giants, where he faced one shot that was not on goal. Keystone tallied up four corner kicks in comparison to the Tigers one.
Keystone continues their homestand with their final non-conference game of the season against Moravian University on Wednesday, September 23 at 6:30 PM.
