CHAMBERSBURG, PA- Keystone women's soccer opened conference play Saturday with a 10-0 loss to Wilson at Kris's Meadow. Grace Fuller (Maple Ridge, B.C./Garibaldi Secondary) and Emma Herman (Larksville, PA/Muhlenberg Christian Academy) split time in goal for the Giants and combined for 14 saves.
Wilson scored three times in the first seven minutes and led 8-0 at halftime. Fuller played the opening 45 minutes and made six saves. She turned away shots from Kalea Pechart and Ashlynn Simmons less than 20 seconds apart in the 12th minute, then made two more saves in quick succession late in the half.
Herman took over in goal after the break. Wilson kept the pressure on, but she saved its first four shots on goal of the second half. Claire Thompson scored in the 56th minute and Brynn Spangenberger added Wilson's final goal in the 63rd. Herman made three more saves after that goal, finishing with eight in 28:24 of action.
The Giants continue their United East Conference play against Penn State Brandywine on September 29 at 2:00 PM.
