KEUKA PARK, N.Y.- The Keystone College women's volleyball team competed in a pair of matches Friday at the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center, facing La Roche University and Marywood University.
La Roche 3, Keystone 1
Keystone opened the day against La Roche, battling through four sets before falling, 3-1.
The Giants dropped the opening two sets, 25-14 and 25-19, before responding with their strongest set of the match. Keystone claimed the third set, 25-20, to extend the contest and force a fourth set.
The Giants recorded 10 kills in the third set while committing just six errors, finishing the frame with a .138 attack percentage.
Madison Woods (Camrose, Alberta, Canada/Ecole Camrose Composite) and Isabella Buonopane (Wake Forest, N.C./Archbishop Williams) each recorded five kills to lead Keystone, while Naema Alatorre (Brownsville, TX/Idea Frontier) contributed six assists and two service aces. Victoria Crampton (Cold Lake, Alberta, Canada/Assumption Jr./Sr.) added three aces, and Anna Johnson (Niles, MI/Niles) finished with seven assists.
La Roche took the fourth set, 25-11, to secure the match.
Marywood 3, Keystone 0
Keystone returned to action later in the day against Marywood, competing through three sets in the second match of the doubleheader.
The Giants showed offensive contributions throughout the match, with Buonopane leading the team with five kills. Woods and Nakaya Cridge (New Castle, IN/South Henry School Corporation) each added three kills, while Johnson recorded five assists.
Keystone also received a pair of service aces from Alatorre, while Cridge and Aliya Noriega (Anchorage, AK/West Anchorage) each added an ace.
Marywood claimed the opening set, 25-13, before taking the second, 25-17, and closing out the match with a 25-11 third-set victory.
The Giants continue their road trip as the team wraps up their stay in Keuka Park, NY as they take on Keuka College at 11:00 AM with the final game coming against Hilbert College at 1:00 PM.
